Shagadelic, Yeah!

I'm sooo lagging behind in my blog posting. However, I do admit freely (note the difference ;) ) that I slack out when it comes to this - there is never any lack of material to blog about, but for reasons of sensitivity, publicity, time and laziness, I just never get round to it. There, said it. ;)

Doing my usual ritual of daily blogchecks - and Parkville seems to be have been transformed to Emoville overnight. So I'll go against the trend, and do a boring monologue-style post about the events that have transpired over the weekend.

(Note: For those still trying to discern some hidden meaning in the lines written above - please. There is none. I think. :P... I leave that to my esteemed community members for now. ;) )

---------

So. The term of choice here floating around the neighbourhood these days is... you guessed it: "Noodle Week".

(Well, there're a few terms going around, actually - universal terms like WLD, NLM, ELE, ARM. Not discounting the liquid sound effects either... but it wouldn't do to spell out too accurately just how very strange this group is, ai?)

I'm not quite sure how the above term came about. It was initially coined to demonstrate the diet of a select few individuals having well. FinanceProblems. Yours truly included... so what's new, eh? ;)

Presently, the limits of this phrase have stretched to encompass all weekend activities as well. Which, when I first arrived, commonly involved vodka shots, R&B, diaphragm exercises and nipple exposures. But, due to constraints on finance, the frequency of these events have dwindled, to be replaced by another trend.

Video nights.

When Friday nights come around, it no longer has the requisite shopping expeditions by two girls (with one extra usually being dragged along), the 4-hour long preparations and the convoluted conversations with taxi drivers. Instead, by 7:30p.m., the group congregates on a rumpled-looking sofa, allocating positions in order of size and of course, the everpresent "Silence/Sulk" situation. Quilts are dragged out, pillows are plumped up, wineglasses are arranged, pizza boxes are opened. And the night ensues.

The on-air shows even follow a theme. So far we have had - Horror Night (some weaker individuals have sadly backed out of this), Austin Powers Night, Romance Night (a hint on how seriously we took this theme: Rose and Jack were our guest stars)...

If nothing else, you gotta admire the organisation.

But variety being the spice and life and what-not, we have had some variations to this riveting weekend activity. Most recent one being: bowling at Chadstone. We had a few welcome scraggly-haired additions to the team (note: the mullet, the curtain and ... the disaster), together with whom we attempted to blend in discreetly with the rest of the Chadstone bowling community. Failing miserably by course, by reason of sheer ineptitude... but incredibly fun nonetheless.

And the question that (how do I phrase this?)... remains... echoes... whatever.

What's in store this weekend?
