This is Amos, my puppy - who I love to bits.

He just turned 6 months old on 28th April, 2004. A white fluffball of energy, he has the sweetest face beyond imagination - round black eyes that can mesmerise any female, a constantly wet nose, small round floppy ears, and a tiny pink round tongue In fact, everything bout him is round, from his head, to his paws, right down to his tail which is always curled up behind him… even his rather round tummy. ;) Even so, he does a remarkable job at standing on his hind legs for a really long period of time, ears perked up and paws waving in the air. He has a scampering sorta walk, and a bouncy sorta run. He chases after his tail, and loves to snuggle into little holes, never understanding that his growing size impedes his comfort level somewhat. He twitches his nose rather violently when it gets itchy, and always does a little sigh before he sleeps. He chews on chair legs and undergarments alike, not caring if his milk teeth breaks off one by one, resulting in his currently rather uneven grin. He enjoys tummy rubs with utterly shameless abandon. He has the most irritatingly forlorn face when he gets spanked for random mischief. His head pops through the crack in the doorframe whenever my car enters the driveway to the house, and he starts the routine of trying to clamber up the door, hopping around and barking as a welcome routine everyday. Lame as it is, it is kinda sweet to know that my return is so eagerly awaited everyday.

How am I going to explain to him that I’ll be leaving next week, and (if things work out), it will be a rather long while before I return?

Damnit, I really wish I didn’t get a puppy. Bloody things really latch onto your heart.
